Round 1 Stasiun 1: Novi-chan, Depok Jawa Barat

The kimono of Indonesian Sisterhood of Traveling Kimono (ISoTK) has already set its journey. As we know, the zero stop was at Yogyakarta and the zero participant was me ^w^. I will share the journey from now on. Otanoshi mi~~ The first participant was Novi from Depok Jawa Barat. She couldn't wear kimono herself so she was dressed by her friend, a Japanese native in the same office as her now. She had trouble with getting pictures outdoor that's why she took all the pictures indoor. Nevertheless, the kitsuke was impeccable!

Kimono Day: Black Usagi Komon with White Sensu Obi

I wore this attire when I went to "Berbagi Buku" event during fasting month (Ramadhan). It was an event held by Kaskus. The man-in-charge-in-documenta tion asked me to give three minutes impression about the definition of "sharing". I was very nervous back then. The collar and the wingspan was too long for me. I need to get the kimono resewn. Still a sloppy kitsuke back then.   I didn't know who got this shot, but this picture was put up in the field report. So thank you, random photographer :P.

Kimono Day: Desi-chan Wedding and Kimono

My high school friend was had her wedding (finally!) and she invited me. I embraced that chance to wear kimono. Although I didn't have kimono formal enough for attending a wedding, I determined to wear any kimono related items I had ^^;;. I wore red checkered komon with my black woven camelia fukuro obi. The komon and juban were home-made by the seamstress, but I now realized that she made the collar and sleeves all wrong, especially in size :P). But by the time I wrote this article, the kimono I was talking about already been adjusted (by my friend) and I wore it in another occasion ;). I also wear white socks, old brown sandals and scarf as an obiage ^^;. This idea of wearing kimono wouldn't success without my best friend's assist. Let me introduce you, Dinda, one of my best friend. I knew her when we attended the same junior high school ^w^. She acted as my chauffeur, accompanion and photographer. Arigatou, Dinda-chan. Although she didn't help me dressing in kimono...

Kimono Day: January 2013 Kitsuke

I know I supposed to post this kitsuke on January, but I admit that I was slack on my update in this blog. Gomen nasai m(_ _)m. I know I shall keep my consistent writing. On the unrelated note, I believe I already made a resolution for 2013: I will wear kimono at least once a month in a year and keep update my kitsuke on my blog :D. I believe this will be my first kitsuke of the year ^w^. I'm enlisted as one of the participants of Indonesian Sisterhood of Traveling Kimono (ISoTK) by default. Actually, I wasn't intended to be the participants, but nonetheless, I was appointed to be the very first participant (likewise, I was considered as the zero participant or participant number zero). You can check the detail of the history of the event in HERE . Some of the rules of ISoTK are: we are obliged to wear the kimono in our taste and choice ensemble and go to some interesting place in our domicile. We also need to take at least two pictures of ourselves wearing kimono in front an...

Project Indonesian Sisterhood Travelling Kimono (ISOTK)

During 2012, there is an idea originated from the admin of Immortalgeisha forum. That event is so called Sisterhood Traveling Kimono. Later the event was changed into Travelling Kimono only. The detail of the event can be seen in here: https://www.facebook.com/TravellingKimono1 . Apparently, they already had the second round with different kimono. I actually want to participate, but due to high postage and the lack of kimono and komono items, I finally forfeit from the event. But still, I love the idea and see the kimono travelling around many countries with different ensemble. Around the last quarter of 2012, I had an intense online conversation with the admin of Kimono Fans Indonesia and the owner of Kiyora Japan online shop. Two noticable girls who are really getting into kimono passion. To date, those two agree with my idea of holding the same event in Indonesia exclusively. They are enthusiastic and proposed to the admin of Sisterhood Traveling Kimono (I will shortened it into ST...
